Another Moment of Gratitude For Indians With The Launch Of ISRO’s PSLV SCATSAT-1

ISRO has successfully been able to complete its missions over the years, which include the Mars Orbiter Mission, Chandrayaan, GLSL MK3, Mission PSLV-C28, and the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System. To add to the delight of the Indians it added another stepping stone today with the launch of PSLV SCATSAT-1.

Achievement ISRO

26th September 2016, Monday morning was sighted with an effective project launch for the weather studies. ISRO made progress in conducting deeper studies about the ocean and the weather. Stated as the longest mission, the launch was spread for over 2 hours and 15 minutes. The location being Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh, the flight took off from the Launchpad at 9:12 am.

The rocket was mounted with 3 satellites from India, 3 from Algeria, and 2 from Canada and the US. The variation in the weight of the same, are as follows:

NLS-19 is from Canada and weighs 8kg

Pathfinder, from US, weighs 44 kg

Alsat-1B, Alsat-2B, and Alsat-1N are from Algeria weighing 103kg, 117kg, and 7kg respectively.

Satellites from India include Pratham and PISAT. Getting into the details of these satellites, Pratham, 10 kg in weight, was built by the students of IIT Bombay to prepare a study about the total count of electrons in space, and PISAT 5.25 kg built by the students of PES University situated in Bengaluru and the third one is in the association with PISAT itself. As mentioned by AS Kiran Kumar, the Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization, India is achieving two different orbits in this single launch.

. On this great event PM Narendra Modi added his words on Twitter stating it as a moment of immense joy and pride for the nation. He congratulated ISRO on the behalf of 125 crore Indians worldwide.
